What is Abundant Mindset?

What is abundant mindset? It is the belief that there are enough or sufficient resources and successes for all of us to go around.

Having an abundant mindset is highly beneficial for personal growth and wellbeing.

The term was coined by Stephen Covey in his 1989 highly popular professional self-help book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, defining an abundant mindset as a concept in which a person believes there are enough resources and successes to share with others.

It is contrasted with a scarcity mindset, where there aren’t enough resources and as a result, we become unnecessarily competitive and destructive.

Practicing gratitude is an easy first step to cultivating an abundance mindset. This could be in the form of a gratitude journal or replaying what you are grateful for at night before you go to sleep. It’s also a great ice-breaker at the start of your team meetings to share with your colleagues what you are grateful for.

Expressing gratitude can be as simple as being grateful for a sunset or having shelter. It could be about being grateful for a colleague, a loved one or a stranger and the kindness that they showed you.

CPK’s Unearth your Purpose and Potential Program explores strategies for developing an abundant mindset. Here is what one of our recent clients had to say about Cherry’s coaching sessions;

Cherry has a wealth of knowledge and insight and has been able to guide and support me in achieving my goals. Cherry’s positive energy is highly motivating and makes working with her like going on an adventure, where the process of ‘getting there’ is as rewarding as reaching your goal.
